About

East Idaho ENT offers full-service audiology and balance testing at our Rigby location!

James Lamb Doctor of Audiology is here for your ears!

We are unique in offering diagnostic hearing evaluations in conjunction to a physician’s office. This helps to streamline diagnosis and treatment, often limiting the number of office visits and even reducing costs for our patients.

Our services include comprehensive diagnostic testing from children to older adults. We evaluate and treat the hearing for patients of all ages! We specialize in treatment for hearing loss through counseling, hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, and cochlear implants. We work with all major manufacturers so that we can choose the best option for each of our patients.

We also have comprehensive balance testing for in depth evaluation of vertigo and other vestibular disruption. Testing includes videonystagmography (VNG), caloric testing and rotary chair evaluation. This allows us to identify the underlying issues leading to imbalance that will allow for proper treatment.

East Idaho ENT believes in an individualized, patient-centered approach to treating those with hearing loss. We believe in attending to every patient’s needs by helping them hear and understand in their unique listening environments.

  • It often sounds like people are “mumbling”
  • Difficulty understanding what people are saying, especially in background noise or when the speaker is far away
  • Turning the TV or phone volume up louder than you used to
  • Speaking loudly
  • Constant ringing or buzzing in your ears, called tinnitus
  • Not participating in activities because you are afraid you will miss out on conversations
  • Being more tired at the end of the day from listening effort

Hearing loss affects people of all ages—even children and teenagers. There are different types of hearing loss that aren’t just caused by aging; hearing loss can result from noise exposure, disease, trauma, or ototoxic medications. We offer comprehensive diagnostic hearing tests to determine the type and degree of hearing loss. East Idaho ENT works as a team to help diagnose hearing loss without having to make multiple doctors appointments.

Many causes of hearing loss can result in permanent damage. In these cases, our best options to help reduce the negative effects of hearing loss are through hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, or cochlear implants. Each hearing loss is unique and we take that into account when treating our patients. We offer a wide range of treatment options so that we can offer you the best service. Not sure if you are a candidate? The first step to finding out is scheduling a hearing test!

We offer hearing aid fittings with all major manufacturers and utilize best practices to ensure that your hearing aids are a good match. Hear aids allow you to hear the sounds needed most, and the sounds you want to hear whether it be music, speech or sounds in nature. Communication is a vital part of our lives, and hearing loss interrupts and interferes with that ability. Properly fitted hearing aids can help to keep you interacting with your friends and family.

Bought hearing aids somewhere else? We can clean and adjust most hearing aids even if they were purchased at another office.

The best way to prevent hearing loss is to avoid loud noises. As a rule of thumb, there is too much noise if you have to yell so that others can hear. Hearing protection is your best bet when in noisy situations like at concerts, shooting firearms, or working with power tools. We recommend using earplugs AND earmuffs at the same time so that your ears are double-protected. East Idaho ENT can also make custom hearing protection so that you can protect your hearing as much as possible!
